Black Label Pinotage 2014

Producentens noter (engelsk): Soil: Decomposed granite and Hutton soils. Age of vines: 61 years old. Irrigation: Dry land vineyards. Trellising: Bush vines. Yield: 2,8 tons per hectare. Vintage conditions: A cold and wet winter was followed by heavy rainfall in November. Some warmer days occurred during the picking season. Winemaking/maturation: Fermentation took place in open concrete fermenters at 28ºC. The cap was punched down manually every 2 hours and the juice was drawn off the skins after 3,5 days. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured for 18 months in 100% new 225-litre French Nevers oak barrels. Munden er rig med en fløjlsblød tanninstruktur, som kun Pinotage fra gamle vinmarker kan give. En intens kerne af ren sort og rød frugt, afbalanceret af krydret mørk chokolade og cedertræ.
