Beskrivelse
Felton Road, tasting note (feltonroad.com – produktside feltonroad.com, hentet 2026-10-19):
2006 Felton Road Chardonnay Elms – område: Bannockburn (Central Otago); drue: Chardonnay.
Enkeltmark ifølge arket: The Elms.
Producentens noter (engelsk): Viticulture: Meticulous summer management of a single vertical shoot positioned (VSP) canopy ensures even and early fruit maturity. Shoot thinning, shoot positioning, leaf plucking, bunch thinning and harvest are all carried out by hand to ensure optimum quality fruit. Cover crops are planted between rows to assist in controlling vine vigour and to improve soil health and general biodiversity. All of our vineyards are managed organically and also utilize biodynamic practices throughout. Vintage & Vinification Carefully hand harvested in mid-late March, whole bunch pressed followed by wild yeast fermentation entirely in stainless steel tanks, preserves the primary fruit flavours. Ageing on yeast lees and malolactic fermentation has produced a delicate wine with complexity, balance and finesse. The wine expresses fruit aromas from the unique Bannockburn “Terroir” and complex leesy/minerally characters. Bouquet & Palate Refreshing and uncomplicated by oak on the nose or palate, there is sufficient complexity from the wild yeast fermentation and lees ageing to support the pure fruit expression. Lighter and more delicate that our more grown up Chardonnay, it finishes clean, fresh and long. A pretty and delicate Chardonnay that is more European than New World.
