Riesling : Whole bunches were lightly foot crushed and grapes bathed in juice also for 36 hours skin contact. Fermented and aged in stainless steel barrels, neutral oak barriques, and sandstone Jar ( Gruner Veltliner) for 11 months. Riesling 198/19 Riesling 49 Gruner Veltliner 4/15 Gruner Veltliner 4/143 68% Riesling 32% Gruner Veltliner Vintage Notes: In general a very warm dry spring, although a little frost fighting was required during some colder weather systems. Changeable weather also affected flowering in some blocks and resulted in smaller crops. We experienced a high diurnal range with low overnight temperatures through much of the season, and significantly we received a third of our annual rainfall in January. From February conditions settled with favourably warm and dry weather returning through to harvest. The Riesling and Gruner Veltliner grow in a slightly cooler microclimate near the top of our site, allowing these varieties time for lovely flavour development and concentration. Winemaker Tasting Notes: Wonderful aromatic complexity with florals, citrus, ginger spice and stonefruit notes, followed by a touch of mineral, flint character. The wine is bright and textural, with supple richness through the palate. Lovely balance and gentle acidity with fine phenolic persistence giving length.
