Producentens tekst (engelsk): The beauty and perfume of Cabernet Franc is complimented by the sophistication and structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. Petit Verdot offers freshness and brightness to the palate. Complex aromas of brambly blackcurrants, plums and coffee grounds intermingle with hints of dried herbs, chocolate, and sweet spices. The palate is intense and generous framed with fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity which combine to produce a succulent, supple, textural wine with the structure and capacity to develop further complexity over the next 10 – 20 years. Drink from now to 2045. Enjoy with Beef Bourguignon. Decant before serving. Vineyard: 100% Gimblett Stones Varieties: 50% Cabernet Franc / 33% Cabernet Sauvignon / 17% Petit Verdot Harvest Detail: Picked: 28 th March - 9 th April Weather conditions leading up to the 2024 harvest were typical of a classic Hawke’s Bay summer – long, hot, sunny days with moderate-cool nights. As Autumn arrived the season became cooler yet remained dry, providing ideal ripening conditions while preserving natural flavours. Winemaking: Each variety was hand harvested from individual blocks from the Gimblett Stones vineyard, the different clones were de-stemmed and fermented separately. All parcels were gently hand-plunged once daily, to aid optimum colour, but gentle tannin extraction, then pressed and matured in 225-litre French oak barriques, (34% new), for up to 20 months before being blended and then aged a further few months in a 5000L cuve before being bottled in February 2026.
