(January 2012) The higher-altitude sites in Monforte aided by slowing the ripening process in relation to vineyards closer to the valley floor, and this Le Vigne shows open, generous aromas and flavors of ripe black and red fruits, framed by vanilla and violet notes. The tannins are very ripe and acid is surprisingly fresh for such a warm vintage - this is where the higher plantings really helped balance the wine. Very surprising and evolving at a slower pace than it s brother, the 2003 Cannubi Boschis. Ratings for the vintage 2003 Wine Advocate 93 points Stephen Tanzer 92 points Vinous 93 points
