Beskrivelse
Krug (hentet 2. nov. 2026):
Composed around the harvest of 2011, Krug Grande Cuvée 167 ème Édition is a blend of 191 wines from 13 different years. The youngest is from the year 2011 and the oldest dates back to 1995.
In all, reserve wines from the House’s extensive library made up 42% of the final blend, bringing the breadth and roundness so essential to each Édition of Krug Grande Cuvée.
The final composition of this champagne is 47% Pinot Noir, 36% Chardonnay and 17% Meunier.
In all, over 20 years of careful craftsmanship were necessary to enjoy Krug Grande Cuvée 167 ème Édition.
We selected some wines of the year from plots behind the Montagne de Reims Nord, in Mareuil-sur-Ay for their surprisingly beautiful, ample and fruity expressions, to which we added Pinot Noir wines from Ambonnay, Aÿ and Bouzy – chosen for their structure, Meuniers from plots in Sainte-Gemme for the fruit expression Chardonnays from plots in the Côte des Blancs, Chouilly, and Oger for the character and body. They are complemented by reserve Meunier wines from different years brought freshness, while certain Chardonnays and wines from plots on the Montagne de Reims harvested in the 1990s bring breadth and roundness.
Tasting notes:
A light golden colour and fine, vivacious bubbles, holding a promise of pleasure.
Aromas of flowers in bloom, ripe, dried and citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread.
Flavours of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, jellied and citrus fruits, almonds, brioche and honey.
